I got this one from the Dutch marketplace a few months ago.

It’s E-flite’s first corsair version, but the second version isn’t that different i think.

the previous owner has flown it one time and made a bad landing. I bought it from him, the plane only had a few scratches which you almost didn’t see.

It was very easy to setup and assemble. The wings and fuselage are really strong and I didn’t find any structural instability. I think it can easily handle a hard (crash) landing.

It is fully functional. it comes with flaps, retracts, and all other controls. The retracts are strong and have big wheels for grass takeoffs and landings like I do.

One single thing i was a bit concerned about were the drop tanks under the wing. They are removable but their connections to the wing are not really strong.

MAIDEN FLIGHT

The maiden flight was without the drop tanks. it was my first taildragger warbird flight, and it needs a lot of right rudder on takeoff. the flight went really well and it’s a quite fast model. when retracting the gears, the model wants to nose up because of the drag that disappeared. full flaps can cause a stall when not using enough throttle. landing is quite easy with full flaps, but it’s still not a beginner aircraft.

GOODS

This model is very strong and robust built. Being so strong, it can handle very high speeds and tight turns and it is quite aerobatic.

It flies pretty realistic when using low control rates at about half throttle. I really like the color cheme and the flight characteristics.

The high wing loading causes the plane to be harder to fly at low speeds, which is good for more experienced pilots but not for beginners.

NOT SO GOODS

After a lot of fun flights at the club, something weird happened.

I was flying for a minute and found out my motor was making a different noise than before. it was still flying fine and after a few turns I came in for a landing. Then suddenly my motor stopped working. Since it’s not a glider it kind of stalled and turned to the ground. luckily it landed in very high grass and it was fine. at home I found out that the motor is broken. I also reinforced the drop tank connectors because I didn’t trust them.

MODS

Since it’s motor was broken, I had to use another one. the previous power system is a 40A esc with an e-flite BL10 motor. I installed a new slightly bigger motor with a 60A esc and it is flying perfect again.

Overall it’s a very fun and rubust airplane for the more experienced pilots.
